True. And sad. Same goes for politics and law. It’s always been about the location and relocation of money - its why we have the wealthy and the poor and it sucks. Ideally finance and politics should be able keeping a balance and keeping the money flowing instead of stagnant but, well, that doesn’t really happen. And the tons of independent actors outside of the industry that do the same thing don’t help. Bah it all just sucks. But attacking the system as a whole is different from personally blaming the individuals in that system for their collective mess. None of them are victims, par say, but some of them are just doing their job, no more, no less. I don’t think many people go into finance thinking, I want to exploit the disadvantaged and get rich off them. But there’s a micro and a macro level to everything, and it’s really hard to tell what happens when all these little things come together into one huge entity that no individual controls
Oh but also an overwhelming percentage of CEOs and big-shots in finance/politics are clinical psychopaths

Okay, so this came up in my head because some guy I know to be super liberal/anarchist commented on my current internship with “is that Romney’s firm?” I KNOW he’s judging the shit out of me for it (even though no, it is not Romney’s firm but the two are closely connected). Look, I don’t even know if this is what I want to do - but business/finance/management gets some serious shit and I think that in many ways it’s unfair. The world and Tina Fey hates people in finance and business. Despises it, especially after Occupy. I’m not saying that there isn’t serious corruption and scandal and exploitation in the business world, but hear me out :
((warning: it’s long))
